An English rider who was injured in the French-Belgian match was flown to Paris by the French air force and flown back to England on Saturday.
Arian French was on the field for the England team when the incident occurred on Saturday in the second half of the second leg of the European Championship.
French rider Jean-Francois Faucheux was stretchered from the field on a stretcher and was taken to hospital in a stable condition, a source close to the situation said.
Faugeux was injured on the pitch during a collision with Belgium’s Niki Terpstra during the second-half of the match.
It was a blow that left France down to nine players after Terpstra scored with her third goal of the tournament to secure a 3-2 victory for France in front of an emotional crowd in Paris.
